Grace defined.

Today I want to share a message to the church from one Pastor Ken Yapha of the River Of Life Fellowship Nairobi. You can view more of his hard great posts on his page.

What really is grace? I will answer this misunderstood concept with scripture…
‘(Grace is God’s redemptive power) which teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age!’ ~Titus 2:12

It does not get clearer than that for any child of God who is a believer of sound doctrine. Did you know that ‘No!’ is a complete sentence? Learn to use it often and unreservedly – it will save your life.

Looking at the precedent Jesus set for us while on earth, we realize he actually raised the standard for us that supersedes that spelled out in the law. (Matthew 5:20)
The law outlawed actions but Jesus outlawed the thought and emotion that leads to the action! He said, if you hate your brother (thought/emotion) you are a murderer (action) and if you look at a woman lustfully (thought/emotion) you have committed adultery (action).
The law was meant to supervise them that are enslaved by sin. Those who really live under grace live above the law for they do not even entertain the thought of breaking the law.

Be careful not to teach erroneous things concerning the grace of God…
“for whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” ~Matthew 5:19
